This guidance note focuses on a specific type of approach to pro bono work; adopting ‘peer-to-peer’ approaches to the sharing of knowledge, skills and experience between UK legal and judicial experts and their counterparts in developing countries. Peer-to-peer approaches hold significant potential as a particularly meaningful and impactful subset of pro bono work. This paper provides guidance on how to realise this potential and sets out some challenges and recommendations for maximising the peer-to-peer methodology. The paper is of particular relevance to legal and judicial experts involved in, or considering developing, facilitating or undertaking pro bono peer-to-peer work.
